Idle Hanging M6 LS1 Bad TPS sensor?
Idle Hanging M6 LS1 Bad TPS sensor? I have a 1999 Chevy Camaro LS1 Howards ASA cam, ported Fast 92, fast 92mm throttle body, 1 7/8 TSP headers.
Car ran fine after tune for 1000 miles, after hotlapping at the track one day the idle started to hang at 1500 RPM. It would drop if I shut the car off and restarted.
A few weeks after while driving in traffic the idle would hang at 1500-1200 RPM even when coming to a complete stop.
I started to data log it and noticed that the tps was reading that it was open .9 to 2.4% even when no throttle was applied. I even pulled over and made sure that the throttle blade was shutting all the way.(cable wasn't hanging).
Has anyone ran into this? I am getting a new TPS to see if this is the problem.
When I reset the TPS it reads .51 v on key on, and most of the time its fine driving, but when the throttle hangs its reading the thottle open when it's not.
The TPS was dremeled and set when tuned, and was fine for a while.
My tuner has been more than helpful I was just wondering if anyone else has run into this?

I hate to say it but that fast throttle body doesn't like an aftermarket cam. I have one too and haven't been able to get the idle hang to completely go away. I even ported the **** out of the air flow holes in the throttle body. It helped but it's never driven like it did with the stock tb. Best bet is to sell it and buy a Nick Williams tb. Won't have an issue with that one.
Thanks guys, it ran fine for 6 months and 600-1000 miles. After hot lapping it at the track one day it started to hang. I am going to try a new tps first, then see what happened from there.

This is why Id look into it deeper.if it did this from the start then I wouldnt think twice that something else would be wrong. But after a track day of running the car hard and then have problems sounds like something is no longer happy.Id look into anything else that may affect this also like leaks or pcv..gaskets etc to be on the safe side.

This is what happened to me, it was my map sensor. It would get pushed out under acceleration and then sucked back in after a moment of idle. check that, I ended up making a bracket for it.
