Question Fuel Line Heat Issues with TD

I have a question for you all. Do you wrap your fuel lines on the driver's side of the car to keep the heat of the muffler away from them? I don't want the fuel to get hot and cause a fire. I'm thinking about wrapping my lines with the same type of material used to wrap starters to protect them from header heat. Please give me some insight on this as I do not want my car to spontaneously combust.

Don't they already come wrapped with heat resistant tape?

I'm referring to the lines on the underside of the car. If I knew how to post a pic I could show you, but I have a pic of my car on my website that shows the lines that I am asking about. www.clemson.edu/~jaander

I wrap mine with hi-temp tape, but over time it come's off, thats were zip ties come in handy. No problems now. LT are coming next should be louder.

This is the reason I intend to run 2 pipes over the right side of the axle.
You have fuel and brake lines there, both are a safety concern when heated. Seems to me you could also run into some form of vapor-lock or you could send overly hot fuel back into your fuel pump through the return line. The fuel pumps on our cars are fragile to begin with.
If I was to put exhaust on that side of the car, I would wrap either the exhaust or the lines (in that area) with header wrap. Tape or starter foil seems a little too wimpy.

Wait till someone's brakes fail due to a mail order dual set-up...
Can you say 'product liability lawsuit'?

I just installed my Lane's setup, and I called him about this very thing. There are two black plastic clips holding the fuel lines. Unbolt them, turn them upside down, and they move the lines up about 3". Takes a little work and a little flexing to get the bracket flipped, but when it's flush again the lines are hardly in any bind at all.

This pic shows the brackets I'm talking about.

That's what Lane recommended to me when I installed my duals ... so that's what I did. I haven't had any problems and it has been close to a year since I installed the duals.
