alternator size ??????? need help This may be in the wrong section again maybe i think possibly, Im looking for a alternator that is smaller around than a 2005 5.3 truck alternator that will fit a cbm low mount drivers side bracket. it is for a 1933 ford and i need all the room I can get, any help would be appreciated. thanks
The easiest thing to do is go to a local alternator/starter rebuild shop and tell them what you want/need. They can usually fix you really easy. The one near me pulled 10 alternators out and let me measure them all. On top of that, I got it for a great price.

Try a 2000 Camaro alternator. It has the same bolt pattern as the truck but sits in closer to the engine. If you need a price on one, shoot me over a PM. We have them in stock both stock amps and a high amp version.

I too have a 2005 5.3 engine but from a tahoe with the small amperage alternator. Does the camaro alternator fit closer than either sized one from 05?
