My Racetronix 255 and hot wire kit is maxed out with me running n/a. It would probably work perfect for bolt ons only but I wouldn't trust it with much more than that. Consider it's about a 30% difference, and on gas this unit is good for around 600 rwhp, so that means around 420 rwhp on E85. Of couse it's not an exact science but it gives you a rough idea

I've been reading that the consistency of E85 varies a lot more than 93. Any of you know just how true that is? I know they have different seasonal blends but I'm not referring to that

Good to see some experimentation goin on here. Good luck and be sure to post up a graph of the difference if you can.

Thanks man. My plan is to do a before and after, because I'll need a dyno anyways to see where she stops making power as we advance the timing

Find out your fuel demands and then how much room you have left. You have 35% more demand for E85.

It isn't an issue. The difference between say E-70 and E-85 is so small it isn't even worth mentioning. Unless you are running literally on the ragged edge there is no reason to adjust the tune. Tune adjustments don't really need to come in until you get around E-50 or so from what I've seen (if tuned for E-85).
The checker is like 20$ on Summit. Just check the blend before you get it.

Up north, the blends change more than down south but I still don't see it being an issue.
Tune it safe and don't worry about it. A safe E85 tune is still more powerful than an aggressive 93 tune.

Ok thats good to know, and definitely makes me feel a little better. I've already bought the checker as well. There's so much info on this subject and it's hard to tell what's BS sometimes. Thanks for the info

Btw, how important is it to have E85 compatible injectors? Apparently my Bosh 42's are not approved according to Bosh. Also, how many of you store your car for winter with E85 in the tank?

Drain tank for winter.
Fill up with a little race gas (at least 93)... Run for 2-3 minutes.
Store.

Be fine.
Don't let car sit for more than 3 weeks without starting or draining rails/injectors.

No biggie.

Ok I appreciate the info. What's your take on injectors that are not technically E85 compatible? Are you saying it's fine as long as I follow this protocol that you've mentioned, or do you think it's a bad idea to use these injectors period
