Bad cam position sensor sympotoms

Bad cam position sensor sympotoms I've tried Google and come up with different answers, some say it'll run Fine without it besides the hard starts and I read also that it 'll make it run like crap. Reason I ask is because I've been trying to find why my car takes excessive cranking and running rich. It pops a p0175 which is just is rich on bank 2 but it's only on bank 2, I have no codes for bank 1. I also noticed it just doesn't run right, I barely bought the car but to me it feels low on power. Well I started looking around and today I found that the wiring to the cam sensor was all messed up on the connector, I barely pulled on it and the wires came off. So now that I know the wiring is bad, could this be the cause of the problems I've been having?
could be, the cam sensor will not cause a rich condition though it doesn't control fueling. it could be the source of hard starts though, so def get it fixed. the poor running condition is probably a result of the bank 2 issue not the cam sensor.
for the bank 2 issue after you fix then cam sensor I would first clean the maf and see what that does. then monitor the o2 voltage with a scanner to see if its switching quickly. if it does then I would start spraying some carb cleaner around the tb, intake gaskets etc to check for a vacuum leak. if that fails check for any major exhaust leaks near the front o2 sensor and see if any fresh air could be hitting the sensor. if all that checks out I would turn to the o2 sensor itself or a possible sticking injector. if the car sat for a long time the injector would be one of the first things I checked.
