Speed engineering headers were perfect for mine. I put new motor mounts while I was in there DO THIS ALSO!!!!!

I had no issues at all

1bad98ls1 is a11.0 sec bolt on car. Can't argue with that guy to much

Sounds like ill be going with the 1 7/8 LT's then. Ill eventually cam the car but thats not going to happen for another few years. Still learning the car and doing research on that project.

I got the shock tower brace to help with stiffness on the autocross since ill be attending a few, i hope.

If you ever plan on going to a tubular K, you can also go right to 2" headers.

since you have a 99 if keeping the stock ls1 intake have you done the egr mod? open TB and look to see if thing is hanging down blocking airflow at the front of intake inside. if legal LT headers and a tune. cheers.

well, im gonna be doing an egr delete when i install headers, and from the pics it looks like all of that will come out when i slide the egr tube out? just gotta get a block off plate for it when i order headers.

Yes that tube will be removed completely when you delete and do the headers. I'd recommend just going all out and getting the motor mounts too. 1 7/8 primary is the new standard and I'll be installing mounts and speed engineering headers tomorrow. I recommend deleting as much as you can get away with it makes working on the car much easier. Upgrading the ls1 intake would help also. Check out the list of free mods like the DIY ram air etc.

1 7/8" Speed engineering headers all the way.. for the price you can't beat them.. installed easy with no modifications.. they fit so tight along the bottom of your car you will want to do the motor mounts for sure..

FYI I installed the headers and mounts. Everything fit perfectly. Wasn't nearly as hard as some make it out to be. The 1 7/8 headers woke my 98 up a good bit also. Good luck.
