Default Ls6 questisons.

Soon I plan to buy an ls6 intake but can’t decide to go with the stock egr or not? It’s a 98 Trans am. What are the benefits or not having it?

Besides blocking off the EGR with plates, do I need to disable it from the computer to with a programmer? Or can I just block it off with the plates and be done with it.

Also I'm not sure which ls6 intake I should buy? I'm up for suggestions. Don’t want to spend too much.

When changing the intake what’s the reason I need to change the

using the search would help you a lot but ill help you anyway. i would most definately remove the egr, if you dont mind a SES light then you dont need to do anything really, but you can get it tuned to remove the EGR i believe texas speed will do this for like $75. i would get a ls6 intake off a 2001+ camaro or transam if you could. the pipes are because the ls1 intakes have a valley between the intake where the coolant tubes run and the ls6 doesnt have the valley so the front and rear tubes need to be modified or replaced with newer ones that dont run under the intake. i have been successful at just cutting the stock pipes and crimping the ends and soldiering them shut, didnt cost anything

On the upside, I deleted AIR, blocked them off, then swapped intakes and removed EGR and capped them too, No codes or SES lights...I was a lil surprised but I'm not gonna complain bout stuff like that. By the way its also possible just to modify the fittings of the old tubes and resue them as block off plates, just have your handy dremel and some new gaskets for the plates.
