Default Cusco catch can?

My friend has a small Cusco catch can(a bit smaller than a soda can) for sale.

Has anyone used these on an ls1? He had an 06 wrx that he was going to install it on, but recently got rid of it. Apparently they're pretty well known in the Subaru world, but I've seen nothing about anyone running them with an ls engine.

Any insight would be appreciated, thanks in advance!

Well I took a long shot and snatched it up.

Are all catch cans pretty much straight through in terms of inlet and outlet?

Cusco has oil catch cans and oil separators and yours looks like an oil catch can. It will not separate oil in a PVC setup like a Norris or Mighty Mouse can.

So the things everyone has been calling catch cans are actually air/oil separators?

I asked a friend who has some pretty quick dsm cars what's up. He told me to pack it full of steel wool to catch the passing oil. I'm going to try it out, worst case scenario it does nothing and I take it off.

Don't use steel wool because it's too fine and pieces of it will be pulled into the motor. You need a course wire mesh like a stainless steel pot scrubber or similar. It's not worth it... Buy a quality catch can/oil separator like Mighty Mouse, Norris, or Billet Technology and sell the can you bought.

Yeah I noticed that when I went to buy it. I got 2 packs of stainless steel pan scourers. It's a major pain getting them in there, but I managed to get one scrubber in and working on #2 now.

As for the not being worth it part, I may end up buying a good can for the car and using the crapco one I'm messing with now on my truck.

Edit: thanks for the help and advise, I appreciate it
