Default LQ4 or 5.3 in a 98

I've been researching swapping a lq4 or 5.3 into my 98 trans am. It looks like I just have to swap all the front accessories and harmonic balancer over to the lq4. Also need to get a 2001+ engine because of the crank length (I'm looking at a 2002 and a 2003) but I found a lot of posts that were unsure if it would work in a 98.

Will the 98's pcm cause any issues with either a 2002-2003 lq4 or 5.3? I will get it tuned of course but just want to know if the sensors/wiring will be mismatched or if I can just swap over the sensors from the LS1 to either the 6.0 LQ4 or the 5.3 LM7.

Thanks

You will be good to go. The only thing that i have read is the 5.3 or 6.0 don't have one bolt hole drilled in block for the camaro accessories.

Yeah, the middle alternator bolt is missing. I can live without that, lol.

The sensors and stock ls1 pcm will work with a 6.0 just fine though?

From my understanding the issue with the 98 is the gauges talk to the pcm differently, so as long as I use my 98 ls1 pcm and not the truck pcm everything will be fine. Is that correct?
