If I was trying to sell you something, I would have posted a link to my F/S thread. It's been on this site long enough for most everyone to see. You are taking my reply way wrong. It's just that 99% of the people here will tell you to just use a bolt and that is not the right way to install a press fit pulley. It got so bad at one time that one of the owners of this site had to delete some posts. Here are some pics of what I sell. It makes no difference to me if you buy one or not. I sell plenty and once the batch I have made are gone, I won't be selling any more anyway.

2xLS1 got beat up pretty bad in another forum about this. He didn't deserve it either.

Personally, I like his tool. ( did I just say that!?!?! ) I mean the installer.

Sorry for taking it wrong. I know nothing of the other threads. I can see how that would work because you have more threads of the stud already in the crank which would spread the pressure out more, and your also trying to share the pressure on the nut.

For anyone reading this do not buy the JC Whitney installer. I got one and the threads on the bit aren't long enough to reach inside the crank snout. 2xLS1, if you still got another installer, I want one.

I just sold my last one and I have no plans to make any more. BTW did you buy the JCW tool on Robert Bartsch's recommendation? He was constantly posting in my F/S threads trying to get people to buy that tool instead of mine.

Thumbs up

I just used, 30 minutes ago, 2xLS1's pulley install tool and it worked like a charm. The pulley was so easy to install I felt a little guilty because I didn't suffer at all.

Thanks 2xLS!!!

Yeah I got the JCW one. It comes with different bits for diff. cranks. One bit has the right thread pitch and would work but it just aint long enough. I think I'm gonna keep this thing just for the thrust bearing and find a threaded rod/bolt like yours. Put the thrust bearing with that and should make for a nice piece.

I did my install yesterday, it was cake. No need for an "installer" kit. Nothing a long bolt can't handle.
