Fram Air Hog
they each work well - do not dump a bunch of oil in these filters ...cause the motors suck it into the MAF metter and screw the computer up, however....
If your car is under warranty, take the filter out and replaceit with a factory filter when you drop your car off for dealer service....some dealers will void your warranty becasue of the oil MAF issue....
I was very happy to find the Fram AirHog PPA3914 for $39.95 vs the K&N At Autozone and Advance Auto for $64 +.
Did not realize that I get a new filter tray with the AirHog until I opened it.(Pretty kewl I guess). The filter is not overly oiled either so that is a good sign. Construction looks quite healthy so I would say it should be very durable.
Just make sure that you follow the instructions to see that little thing you must do for the F-Body LS1...That is trim off the little thin plastic handle on the new filter tray that comes with the AirHog (peice of cake).
I noticed a difference in response, and the tone of my car when I put this in. Of course I was due to change the old paper filter out anyway b-cause it was kind of dirty.
I saved the old tray and paper filter just in case I need warranty work done so they can't use that old BS line blaming it on an aftermarket oiled filter.Again at $39.95 I can't really complain for a re-usable hi-flow filter.
Hava Great Day All.
