You can take into account I sold my 98 shortblock for $450 you are doing a longblock. The biggest difference is mine was in working order.

Removed 8# from the nose today (emptied washer bottle, lol)...hey, it's the little things that add up. Total removed so far 176#'s.
A couple of aesthetics mods also, painted calipers gloss black. Ground down all the pitted chrome on inside of all 4 wheels and painted gloss black.

As is typical with me...I went another direction with the motor. I found a newly freshened up LQ4 short block (with new everything - bearings, rings, healthy cam, lifters, timing set, oil pump, covers, balancer, and F-body water pump) with an F-body pan for a good deal!! Plan is to install my P&P L92 heads, LS3 intake and NW92.
Cam is a 231/247 .617/.624 @ 113 which should love the L92 heads...Now I've done it...budget build will be faster than my car

Anyone interested in how much some of this stuff weighs on a digital scale? Have not compared to the Weight Reduction sticky yet....

Modded LS3 intake to take LS1 MAP, all remaining parts should be here on Wednesday (except heads) to completely finish engine on the stand. Hopefully dropping the ol' LS1 this weekend...

Worst upkeep of an engine I have ever seen...again, explains why spun bearing.

Sweet build! Makes me wish my father was into cars when I was learning. I see you're located in Florida. Is your local track Orlando Speedworld, or is there another one closer to you? I'd love to see the car when it's done.

Thanks! I'm in Ft. Myers... Immokalee is 50 min. away 1/8th mile and Bradenton is 1.75 hours for the 1/4 mile. Plan is to let him get some seat time in the 1/8th. I'm gonna "tone it down" while he learns, but should be a low 11- high 10's car N/A.
Still waiting on heads, then assemble on stand. Pics to come tomorrow on some things we worked on this weekend.

Some pics of LS1 to LS3 fabrication (throttle bracket and MAP). Painted truck coils hammered black and installed on fabbed covers. Ready to go together once heads get here...

I use my car as my bracket car as well, i race at green cove springs, car is hit and miss though, always hooks up but with a degree in weather temp difference it's nearly 1/2 a second off or on ha.

Starting to be more consistent in the 8.5 range though

1/2 sec? that is huge! I could see .05..... My car in sig is dead consistent (on motor) and I have a speed density tune.

What are your reaction times and 60 ft times sounds to me like you may be cutting a better light and 60 ft on the quicker runs. That can be mostly driver inconsistency and track conditions changing on top of it makes for your faster times.

Subbed. Love to see father son projects. I sat in the garage with my pop a lot of days putting this car together.
