Default Vortex 454

So I have been doing some research on the Vortec engines. And from what I understand is that the LM7 aka 5.3L Vortec is the same family as the LS series. That you can transfer over parts from the LS to the LM7 such as the intake manifold. Does the same go for the L29 aka 7.4L Vortec? I would love to throw in a 454 into my 01 TA. Just worried if it will actually fit. I know I would need to go Fuel injected due to the fact that I have heard you need to cut into the cowl to fit a carb. So all Im asking is if parts are from my LS1 will fit on the 7.4L Vortec. And also if I will need a new K-member. And if there is anything else I am missing.

Totally different engine. The 454 is an old school big block and nothing is interchangeable. You could make it work of you really wanted to but there's no
Point really

That and the newer big blocks supposedly don't share a lot of parts with 454's of the 70's and such. Look elsewhere for your displacement fix.

I believe It's the 8.1 vortec that got a lot of changes over the original big block

Ya if the parts don't interchange then I will most likely go with the 5.3L Vortec build. Thank you

Same firing order for the 8.1 I believe, that and not much else. Get your kicks with a 5.3 or 6.0.
