Default Car won't start with TPS plugged in.

So I've ran into an issue on my 98, for a few months now I've had issues with the car hesitating, dying and not starting/idling at fire up.

So far I have replaced the IAC, TPS (twice), cam position sensor, and a fuel pump (thinking htat might have been the original problem) nothing has changed. I have tested the voltage going to the tps sensor and they are within spec. No Codes are Present.

It still WILL NOT start with the tps plugged in, but it starts and runs just fine with it unplugged. I am totally and compltely stumped. Any suggestions?

Even though the TPS has been replaced I'd still be leaning towards either that or wiring to it when you are having starting problems with it plugged in.

What does the tps position/voltage read on a scanner with the key on?

the voltage read 12v, the signal read 5.

Hopefully someone will correct me on this if I am wrong, but I am fairly certain when a TPS is closed it should be reading a low voltage, .4-.6 not a full 5 volts. If it's reading a full 5 volts it may think it's wide open and that would be why it isn't starting.

Yep, about .6 at idle & yep 5 v is wot. If its that high its a broken wire to TPS or bad ground.
