BBK Shorty owners, come in! Has anyone tried smoothing out the transition from the collector to the flange on BBK shorties for the LS1. My installer has done numerous LT1 shorty installs and says that if the air hits that "lip" it will tumble and cause turbulence. He wanted me to check to see if anyone has done this. We are also going to open the passenger opening to 2 1/2 and also clean up the slop in the welds. Smoother is better 
. Any advice would be nice.
I don't know if JBA or Hooker made their flanges the same way, but the same principles apply I suppose. I want to get the most out of these headers, but I also don't want to screw anything up. Thanks.

Hi, yes I did and I don`t understand how the people at BBK can leave the shoortys like this, it`s to bad. The headers will be a power robber if you leave them the way they come from factory, anyway it`s not so much job to mill them out, the right one is finish. The headers go to a Random Y-pipe
