Talking Looking for a nice deep exhaust on a stock 98 TA

I've been reading up alot on LS1 exhausts [and listeningon LS1sounds] and, seems like most people get LTs with exhaust..

I, however, would like to get either a Cat-Back or just a muffler that'll make my car sound deep and throaty w/o drone [hence no LM for me..] on an otherwise completely stock TA.

Please recommend such a system.. I'd love to get a Corsa or GMMG, if it wasn't for the rediculous price tag on'em.. my budget for exhaust is no more than $400.

Please post... thanks

Under $400 you're limited. I think Magnaflow is around that, it sounds pretty good (for stock). Also, the Hooker system has a great rumble, but is considered to be one of the quietest cat-backs. GMMG is, IMO, the best cat-back as far as sound goes. If you can scrape some money together, there is a group purchase going on right now for $600 shipped.

I agree virbatim with the above, GMMG is by far the best but with 400 I would go with the magnaflow as well.

Go with the Magnaflow. Great catback and even better once you get LT's. Just make sure everything is nice and tight. I welded most of mine up. Changed the sound to a lower rumble and with less rasp.

My first two choices for systems under $400 are the Magnaflow and the SLP 2otl, but stainless steel is a big requirement for me and I don't like a really loud car any more. Hooker is great too if you aren't looking for a stainless kit, and if you don't mind loud you could always go with the SLP Loudmouth or TSP Rumbler. I wanted extra quiet for my car though, so I went with a used SLP dual/dual kit.
