Default LS1 intake on 5.3...?
I have a 2009 Silverado with the 5.3. Would a LS1 intake be an improvement over the truck intake?

No, keep your intake unless you upgrade to a fast or highram.

Truck intake is much better than ls1. On par with LS6. Keep it or drop a grand on the fast truck intake for alittle more power.

Def skip the LS1. A TBSS would make for a nice upgrade on the cheap.

If he has an 09, he likely has a TBSS intake anyway.
Meaning, there is no factory cathedral intake that outperforms what you have now.

I recommend keeping your factory intake. No reason to swap to the LS1 as there will be no gains.
