Default Water pump recommendations

Found out my water pump is leaking. I would love to swap it for a meziere pump, but 750 for the street version is well out of my budget. I've never had any cooling issues with the car, but I am going to be putting a new motor in soon.

Any pros to going with a different pump? Or would the stock pump perform just as well as any "upgrades"?

Thanks!

If you've made enough mods to have cooling difficulties, then an aftermarket racing pump would be a good idea. But if cooling is not an issue for you, no reason to not save money and install a stock replacement.

No reason for an electric pump unless you need 2-3 more horses to make a magic number or you want to run the pump in the staging lanes. Put a stocker in and do an under-drive pulley instead. We should never, ever have cooling issues around these parts. Hello from Kirkland!

I don't believe in electric pumps o n the street. Only for the strip.

Mechanicals are are more than adequate on the street, only
advantage of the electrical is to turn it on between rounds for
extra cooling. Mechanicals actually flow a lot more than electricals and don't use a lot of hp to turn. Electric pumps cause a drain on the electrical system and alot of people don't realize that electrical drains cause higher alternator loads and require more HP to turn out the amperage. Disconnecting the alternator at the strip is worth a solid 10hp.

Factory pump will work just fine.

Default Wegner Water Pump

I use Wegner water pump when possible.
This design was created for GN West NASCAR racing.

MY reason is the position of the Water Inlet, which IS much different.

This position allows for a more "normal" radiator design for use in an Engine Swap requirement.
This pump features greater flow and pressure.
The thermostat is at the top, another feature.
