Default Motor mount prep and paint

Hey, guys, I was in the process of swapping the motor mounts and when I pulled the clamshell bracket it was all rusted. I wire brushed most of the rust off and was going to paint it, but then started reading about prepping for best results. I already wire brushed so now I am just going to spray some Rustoleum reformer and paint it with some high heat brake caliper spray. Would that give me good results or is there a better way to do it? thanks!

Wire brush them until all the corrosion is gone then wipe them down good with some Acetone before paint. You don't need to do Hi-temp paint unless you want that color. I painted my clam shells with regular paint and they look just the same 2 years later.

I wire brushed it as much as I could still have some corrosion though. Will Rustoleum rust reformer take care of the rest?

Eastwood makes a product called rust encapsulator that a lot of people seem to like, you could look into that.

Could also use a wire wheel on an angle grinder to get more corrosion off.

This might be be similar to what Fivepoint7 is talking about but I have used this many times with good success. You can paint over it with what ever color you want.

I used a drill, but the wire wheel was just a little to big to get into some of the edges that's why I couldn't get it. What do you guys think of Rustoleum though cause I already have it?
