Rusty headers
Rusty headers I have a pair of stainless steel longtubes from texas speed that ive had for years. I honestly forgot i bought these and theyve been neglected to the point that theyve gotten some rust inside. Its really hard to tell how bad the rust is cus i cant see inside that deep, would you guys say its safe to run these or should i get new ones?
Or is there an easy way to get rid of the rust inside the headers?

Why bother? if it's just some surface rust from sitting around, it won't hurt anything. If you clean it all out, and then run them uncoated, they'll just rust again. If the rust is significant enough to need some repair, I'd toss them and start over.

I'd just spray oven cleaner down the pipes, use a scotchbright pad with a cord tied around it so you can pull it back and forth in the tube, then hose out. Once dry use the scotch pad soaked with OSPHO down the pipes let dry and rinse again. You'll have a nice black coat of stabilized iron-oxide on the inside. DO THIS OUTDOORS and stay upwind..
