Default Simple LS6 Intake Question

I purchased a 2002 Z28 for my dad recently. 59k original miles, purchased from the original owner who was an old man who didn't touch a thing under the hood. When I say he touched nothing under the hood he never even cleaned underneath the hood. Just regular maintenance. All paperwork and vehicle history showing he was original owner and I know the him a little, he's not a wrench tuner at all.

The reason for the long first paragraph is because this car has ls6 casting number 12573572 on it but the more I read up the more I see that this casting number was used on the 02+ Z06 Vette's. Could it be because the car has the ls6 block too being a late production 2002?

Just trying to clear this up because 01-02 fbody's were 12561184

Any help is appreciated

I'm pretty sure the LS6 intake had at least 3 part numbers (depending on year and model). The one you stated is definitely one of them. It is also possible it is an LS6 block, as they used those in some 02's I pretty sure.

Thank you. I knew there was more than one number just was surprised to see the number that was on it be referenced as a Z06 Vette only number

You can check the block casting number. The LS6 casting number should be 12561168, it was used on about 20% of the 2001's and 25% of the 2002's if I remember correctly.
