Okay I have the QTEC and I put it in on my borla. I was wondering how your supposed to know when it is fully open and fully closed without hurting it. Because I've had it for about 1 week now and it sounds like it doesnt close all of the way. A lot of sound still comes out of the right tip. How am I supposed to know when the plate is maxed out? Any opinions welcome.

You should be able to tell when it's fully open or closed by the sound. Mine takes 5 secs to close and open, counting 1 mississippi etc. When it's closed mine sometimes still leaks a little and a slight tap of the toggle switch is all that's needed to fully close the plate. HTH
