Default 4l60e 12 pins?

I'm doing a LS1 swap on my 69 nova, I recently bought a 4l60e for it but it has 12 pins. The harness I got for it only has 11 pins. Can I make it work?

The pwm which is pin "u" is missing on the transmission and the harness only goes to pin "s"

if the "U" pin is missing on the trans, this indicates that it is either a 1993 or 1994 unit. Everything from 1995 on would have the "U" pin which is TCC PWM-brown wire. Typically one of the easier ways to identify the 1993-1994 units is by a 2" (or thereabouts) speed sensor that is on the DRIVERS SIDE of the transmission. Some 1995, and all later 60E's were all on the PASSENGER SIDE and were smaller in diameter. You can also look at the shift lever arm where it comes out of the transmission. ALL 1993-1994 transmissions have a short shift lever arm whereas *most* 1995 & up had a longer shift lever arm to allow the addition of the external neutral safety switch. The exception to this rule is the F-body transmissions kept the short shift lever arm, and so too did some of the Caprice/Impala applications. You can also look at the pad on the passenger side of the transmission just above the pan rail towards the back (just below and a little behind where the electrical connector penetrates the case) and the first digit will indicate the YEAR of manufacture. Further, if it is a 1993-1994 unit it *should* have a purple piece of plastic in the bottom of the electrical connector where the pins come through on the transmission side. If you post up a pic I can identify it for you pretty quickly.

On your harness, it sounds like you have a 4L80E connector *OR* a 4L80E wiring harness and associated computer?

You may want to post up a pic of the wiring harness transmission connector and let us look at it. You say you just bought this harness-is it a new harness, or a used take out? Did they indicate what year and for what trans? An 80E harness will have only through the "S" pins as you indicate yours has.

so can a transmission that only has 12 pins on the wiring harness for the transmission be connected to a wiring harness that has 13 slots seven terms can a green plug be plugged into a purple transmission if that makes sense
