Default Iac ?

hey all, got a new IAC for my throttle body, and the replacement(the one on the right) is a little different than what I pulled off my throttle body(the one on the left), Could this cause an issue?

What difference? I only see the old one is extended out a little bit. Part number looks about right from what I remember.

exactly, was just talking about how the one that was on my car is extanded a little bit, didn't know if that would cause an issue or not. Was also curious, Ive been hearing about being careful when installing, as to not tear the O ring, what would be good to apply to the O ring if anything or just install? thanks

That is the part the ecu moves to control the idle. The new one will almost never be in that spot again once the key is first turned on after install. It's how the part works to control the air flow.

A little silicone dielectric grease will lube the o-ring and make it slip together nicely.

Out of curiosity what is the process for switching in a new IAC? Is there a learning curve that the IAC has to go through? Or is it a simple plug and play?
