Default another issue

well, on my intake swap, got fuel disconnected, get all the bolts out/loose/held up, pulled the intake up and towards me about 6 inches, on a side note I didn't break the OPSU, lucky me, huh? Got the MAP sensor disconnected, now I'm having an issue with the air line behind the intake where it connects, I can see the part of the line that goes to the HVAC is already disconnected, just cant get the main disconnected from the back, any help would be greatly appreciated.

Just to clarify for us in the peanut gallery, you have the HVAC line disconnected, but not the large one to the brake booster? 98's thumb is pointing to the HVAC nipple, but you sound like it's the larger line giving you sweat.

Here is what it looks like on the vacuum line that slips over that nipple. It is supposed to be soft but can get brittle from heat cycles like any kind of rubber. It should just pull straight off but if not try and give it a turn to break it loose. Use a pliers if needed, then try pulling it off again.

no, 98 is pointing to the correct one,the one for the brake booster is not the one giving me the issue. its the smaller one for the HVAC, just cant pop that damn thing loose.

well, I guess you can all see by the pic what happened, fnally got that thing off, and with that leads to more questions,
1- first I take the black stuff in the ports is carbon?
2- tape them up, then clean around or vice-versa?
3- in the 2nd pic, how hard is it to get that bolt for the steam pipes loose?(far left corner), the main harness is right above it.
4- I'm doing the PCV mod while I have it off, how hard is it to reach where I need to plug it? drivers side and passenger side rear
I thank you all who have assisted, I'm sure I'll have more questions, but hey, that's a good way to learn, ask someone whos done it before successfully

, again, thank you.

You can try but it would be much easier to unbolt the tranny dip stick tube from underneath. You should not be leaking any tranny fluid right now even if that seal was not in period.

next thing I'm going to do is crawl underneath, I have the stock manifolds, so I don't know about space issues. only one way to find out.

Unless there is no bolt holding the tranny tube in place it should not have pulled out from the transmission.
