Using used lifters with a used cam!?!?
Using used lifters with a used cam!?!? What's up so I have a 99 trans am 150,000 miles stalled auto, I just need to know if installing used ls7 lifters with a used ms4 cam that only has a couple hundred miles on it would this be ok? Untouched 243 heads are going in also
If you are tearing the heads off to put lifters in, why put used ones in? They are less than $100. Ne lifters are a good investment.
Now if you are using the same lifters that came with the cam, youd likely want to match the lifter to the lobe is was on as even roller lifters have a break in pattern on them to the lobe it was on

Why don't you compare the price of New lifters to the price of having someone go back in there and replace the lifters after having some type of issue with a used lifter. I think it's a no brainer.
New LS7 lifters are less than a $100, I would never go with used lifters since the heads are going to come off the engine. New lifter trays would also be with considering on a 150,000 mile motor while in there and they are inexpensive.
