Another header/exhaust suggestion post.. Hi everyone , I'm looking for some suggestions, help, info, other threads anything really just to help me narrow down some selections for some headers and exhaust options. Basically what i'm doing at the moment is swapping out a v6 to a v8 and since the motor is out I figured I might as well do the headers since it would make it easier. Some info on my truck is it's a base 2000 silverado swb 4wd with a manual floor shift on the 4wd. I recently bought what seems like a pretty decent '02 gmc 5.3 with 4wd transmission. I have the vin# off the new motor and some pictures of it to if that would help. This is still going to be consider my daily driver so i'm not really going for "race" performance of anything. My knowledge for this particular situation is slim to none so i'm still not sure if I should go with long tube headers or shortys, if I should stick with a y pipe crossover or go with a x or h ? I'm sure I left out some critical information somewhere, but at this point any kind of help would be appreciated.
Pick up some of the Speed Engineering truck headers and their y pipe or duals kit. Best bang for the buck for sure.
Dont waste your time or money on shortys or cheap ebay long tubes, youll regret it and end up spending the money again anyway to fix the problems.
