Dual cut out y pipe
I think how much gain will depend on the Y pipe design and supporting mods based on my experience and results.
My 99TA has a Mufflex Y pipe dual 3 inch Flowmaster style y to 4 inch single to single 3 inch cut out to SLP Dual/Dual. The cut is worth 10hp over the 3 inch I pipe & SLP Dual/Dual. The single cut out open is loud but bearable. I've driven around for months with it open. The TA made 408 and 418 hp at wheels.
My 91 RS has dual cut outs off of the header collector to Hawk's Y pipe ( Flowmaster style y) dual 3inch from headers to 3 inch to SLP Dual / Dual. The RS gained 20 whp with the dual cut outs open over the 3 inch I pipe & SLP Dual / Dual. The dual cut out is insanely loud a couple of minutes max is all I can tolerate. The RS made 445 and 465 hp at wheels.
So the twin cut outs will be worth about 0-10 whp over a single cut out depending on the cars other mod's , Y pipe design and hp level based on my experience.
Compared to a sucky y pipe like Jet- Hot used to sell...it might be even more.
