Default PLEASE help,pcv problems

well i went to take off my valve covers and realized that my pcv hose that comes from my driver side valve cover had a huge hole in it.. then i tired to ease my valvecover out and broke it the rest of the way. i must have done it on my header swap.. i didnt know where it went to at first so i reached my arm back there behind the intake and realized it went into two smaller hoses that i followed to the pcv valve..Then i went to undo it from the valve and the damn black 'Shroud" over the valve broke..SO i need the hose that runs from the back side of the pcv to the driver side valvecover..anyone have a part number??the hard line from the tb to the other side of the valve is good. would this HUGE hole cause my car to idle funny? it has been idling really low and stumbling. i though this would cause a vaccum leak and make it idle high? i think i have a few bent pushrods and im giong to post in the internal section about this question..thanks matt

the part number i need is for the "y"connector that brings the hose from the passanger side valvecover and tb together and y's it into the single hose going to the drivers side valvecover..2 in 1 out or the other way depending on how you look at it. The other areas that are broke are just rubber hose that fits over the hard line, i think i can find some here locally..i didnt know the whole system was hard line with rubber connectors..i just need new connectors but i dont think ill be able to find one that has the two in one out..what the hell where they doing? This is on a 98 model.

I just took the PCV off of a '99 motor. Give me a couple hours to get home from work and check it out. If the piece is in good shape, I can stick it in an envelope and drop it in the mail. I switched the motor over to the LS6 PCV, so I won't need that connector.

I'll post back when I get home. You may not want to wait for the mail, but knowing GM, that rubber Y may cost $100.

EDIT: You could always duct tape the crap out of it for a temporary fix! (we really need a smiley for :ghetto

I got it apart without breaking it. That y-piece is pretty damn flimsy. Anyway, it's about 2.5" long and 1" wide on the double side. I'm pretty sure we're talking about the same thing. Send me a PM with your name and address and I'll drop it in the mail. In return, I'll require a pint of Guinness if I'm ever in AR.

Is that the only piece you need?

actually, i also need the rubber "elbow" that connects the tube from the y to the "plug" on the drivers side valvecover.its just a little 90 degree rubber elbow. i was just gonna connect some hose to it and rig it but if you have it ill take it. if you want ill paypal you money for shipping or i have a couple of 02 extensions laying around if you need one or both, and some block off plates for egr and air tubes if needed..just trying to offer something in return..if not if your ever in arkansas (which i dont know why anyone would want to ) screw the pint well go to the bar!!!!! i have gave many parts away including header bolts i had left over and a blowdown tube for some people that needed them..just wanted to let you know i too like to help out if i can and i appreciate it greatly..just hope i dont have a spun bearing im going to go dump my oil and cut open my filter..i have had butterflies all day
thanks again

Ok, I'm afraid I'll break the elbow if I try and seperate it from the tube. I'll just leave them attached, you can just plug it back into the "Y" and you should be all set. Don't worry about the shipping, the parts are pretty light. Just send me your info.

Glad I could help, keep us posted.

well dan. might want to hold off on sending those... i truley appreciate it though..went to change my oil and there were shavings all over the plug..not huge but just little bitty shavings that had collected and formed what looked like a gray mush. i am going to cut open the oil filter but dont really no where to cut or anything to try and keep it sort of intact. i guess ill need a motor.. i cant afford much but ill have to have something...damn it it will be a while before i can do much to it.. i have a question.. i can get machine work done fairly cheap, do you think it would be better just to buy some pistons and have my block done vs. buy a bulit one?thanks man

Are you sure it's ruined? How much debri was on the plug? A little gray mush is OK. Take a hacksaw and cut the end off the filter. Once you get the cut started it will go through like butter. I didn't read up on what you did to the motor, did you just over-rev it or did you blow it apart with the TNT? What symptoms other than the bent pushrods? I'd check the filter for debri, triple check the rockers to make sure they didn't come apart (especially if you've got stock rockers, make sure all the needle bearings are in place), put in some new pushrods, and do a leakdown check to see if you hurt any of the combustion chambers. If you bent up stock pushrods, maybe they bent before anything else was damaged.
