EGR Question So to start things off my car is a 99 trans am auto
Me and the ol lady spent some time working on the install of the headers in the garage and I noticed that I am going to have to remove the EGR, is there a particular way I have to do this or can I just uninstall everything and throw it off to the side? I seen where it connects to the headers and tomorrow when I finish everything off I will see where it connects to the intake will all I have to do is block off where it connects to the intake and be fine?
btw, I live in michigan so I don't have to worry about passing any emissions

The EGR system only operates when the engine is cold and for only like a minute or two. Removing it won't affect how the engine runs when at operating temps.
HOWEVER, the PCM does an occasional operational check and if it doesn't "see" the EGR pump working, it'll set a code and your SES light will be on. It can be easily tuned out, send the PCM off for a mail order tune.
