Default 2002 ws6 intake

Trying to remove the intake and its stuck on the drivers side rear. Looks like there is a air valve in the back corner but I cant seem to get it loose. There is a nut in the valve cover but another one on the back of the engine. Like , sure. I can get at that. ls1 in an f-body sucks to work on.

On the back of the intake there is a map sensor you have to un hook a small vacuum line and a big vacuum line the larger one I usually un hook at the brake booster instead of taking it off the intake.

There are 10 bolts that hold down the intake if you have all that undone it should come out.

You need to tape the back 4 bolts up so that they don't drag against the heads. If you don't they will just snag in the holes they bolt into

It was that vacuum port junk at the back of the intake that was holding things up. SO.
1.How in the heck to you reinstall this mother without the port seals from falling out or getting screwed up.
2. Does the vacuum port plug at the end need to be replaced. Seems loose and hard.
3. Do you need sealant when installing the valley cover gasket?

1. Intake port seals? Those should just sit up in there nice and snug. They only go in one way if you are replacing them. Easiest way I got the intake pulled was too take the fuel rail and coils off. It can be done with out doing that but it was just easier for me. Gotta watch that OPSU in the back when you put the intake back on.

2. Use your judgement on that port...

3. That gasket is usually a reusable gasket. I would say no sealant.

Yeah better really check that opsu if you pulled on that intake before you disconnected the vacuum line for the brake booster
