I need to replace the starter on my 96 chevy P/u, the right ear is damaged, every starter weve tried is torking so much that its stressing that side. would the LS1 truck starter work on my truck?

 

No, it would not. There is no such thing as an LS1 truck engine. It was only a car engine. The most common truck engine from 2000 to 2005 is the LM7. Same family, different designation. Different starter than the Gen 1 (305, 350, 400, etc.) engine family
