about to order headers and ORY...questions

about to order headers and ORY...questions planning in the next week or so to buy Speed Engineering 1-7/8 LT and ORY in a kit through Speed Engineering.
going to get the better header gaskets and bolt kit as well as the 18" O2 Extentions.
the question I have is mine has smog on the car now with the pipes coming off of the manifolds. With the headers im sure that isn't an option to be able to put them back on.
so should I delete all of it?
we are "supposed" to have all the smog and cats here but I know a guy
so not that worried about inspections.
will taking the pipes off for the emissions throw a check engine light?
