Grinding ignition coil?

Grinding ignition coil? Hey all
So I'm doing a coil relocation in my fbody, and to make a long story short, the U-shaped part of the coil is hitting the bolts holding my relocation brackets in, and I need to clearance them. I know the u-shaped part is magnetic... does anyone know if these are critical to coil function or are they just a bracket? If I grind a little bit off, think they would be negatively affected?
