Why 6.0s are so thirsty?

Tcc agitates the misfires. misfires cause extea greenhouse gas emissions and can break catalytic converters. so it unlocks. stalls should be recalibrated to unlock more as far as pressure goes and at lower speeds in bigger stalls. also lock at higher speeds . any stall above 3k or a loose nitrous converter should have that taken care of in tune and misfires softened up.

Make sure you jack up the truck and check for play in the bearing too before only messing with the sensor. I replace a lot of bearings on those trucks for wear even before the ABS light comes on. And the wear can also effect readings (tone wheel moving back and forth). Although I haven't seen much of that, it is plausible.

I plan on messing with it this weekend as I need to get it fixed. The gentlemen who came and looked at my truck last night loved it and wants to buy it. I gave $15,500 for it, used it for the summer (~4500 miles), and am getting $17,000 for it. Not a bad trade off I suppose. Going to rock the 2002 Saturn SL2 for a few months and then look for something else to buy, lol.
With that being said, I will no longer need to figure out ways to get the MPG and power up.

That's interesting. I know I need to have my truck tuned, just more important **** always seems to be going on, haven't had time to sit down and learn HP though I did buy it. Stall is a 3,200. Weird that the lockup has gotten better as time has gone on. Initially it would stay unlocked at 70mph on flat ground, not anymore.

My buddy bought a 08 brand new with the 5.3 and just traded in on a new silverado with 5.3 and he says the old had more power driving. I was surprised with the added power and torque of the new 5.3.

Line them up and the new one will smoke it. The part throttle tuning on the new ones is pretty lazy

I have to agree on the earlier tuning. We have an 08 Suburban, and it is very sharp off the line and in town. Flat-footing it getting up an onramp shows its limitations.

Drove a new escalade and it felt sluggish unless i hammered it. Well, it was still sluggish then, too. I would have imagined it would have felt a lot punch-ier since it had a 6.2L... first thing i noticed was a lack of response. i would hate to buy a new vehicle and have to tune it right off the bat because i hated the way it felt, esp. with GM's propensity to void warranties.
