Getting a set of nascar 799s that come with titanium int and exh valves. Since these are a lighter valve, dont i wanna get a lighter spring that will be less stressful on the valvetrain? I have duals already on my 241s with about 6000 miles that im sure have life left, but wont know until i get them checked out. Isnt the avg lifespan of duals 10-15,000?
Also, is it wrong that i dont feel like spending the coin on aftermarket lifters? Simply dont have the cash, they have 106,000 on them. Same thing with stock rockers.
I would invest in a good rocker trunnion bushing conversion from Straub or CHE, as the stock roller ones are fine UNTIL one goes and spills all those little needle bearings all thru your engine. Do a search here, the facts will back me up.
And iirc, 799 are a direct swap on an ls1 right? I can use the same stock ls1 head gasket thickness, as well as 7.4 rods right? Im just confusing myself cause i know ill get higher compression with these heads which makes me think ptv and pushrod length will change but im almost certain neither of them change

Yea im honestly more concerned about the rockers than lifters. Am i correct? Ws6 store has theres on sale
If you want the best deals around here, WS6store has them, plus good service. Give them a call, and they WILL steer you right on whatever you need, plus good tech advice.
AH!! PUSHRODS! LOL I thought you meant connecting rods! Must be getting too late.... Yeah, stock pushrods ARE 7.4".
It is a good idea, though, to check for exact required length whenever a different cam, head gasket, or milled heads are used. Even for a stock setup just to be sure.
The nascar guys use the 1511ml from psi but they are pricey. a better alternative is the 1219x. but both beehives. our rockers are on sale yes. 799s bolt right on with stock gaskets and head bolts.
You can use a dual or single spring doesnt matter much there.
The duals we have are tsp pacs and btr but we also have some superbadass manley nextek springs...pricey though.
We have pushrod checkers in stock also!

Its not that plenty have done it its that all those nascar engines run them. every single one.
A dual doesnt give you the safety blanket youd think. Ive seen both fail and both cause issues.
This happened a month ago.
In not begging you to buy beehives, but the idea that a dual will save you if one spring breaks is not entirely accurate.
Now it IS a way to get more pressure...but on a TI valve you dont really want alot.
Yeah, the 26918's are pretty much a pariah now, lol! Scorpion rockers are OK though in your estimation?
To me, beehives, in correct applications, seem to have pretty well proven themselves. They just need a good manufacturer! LOL
0 issues with Scorpion in the past 2 yrs here. Plus they are quick to fix any issue AND have a lifetime wnty. They also hired quite a few guy from Crane when it went kaput in 09-10. Good guys. State of the art facility. Also do their own different grades of anodizing in house AND they also manufacture and quick prototype high end medical equipment.
They arent nearly as big as they used to be. I guess when S&S Machine bought it (iirc) they focused more on the 2 wheeled machines, but they do have new ls cams and a few other things.
Scorpion has been that way for a while, not many know. A long while.
