Duals with or without Cats

Will it be worth it to have them removed or just leave them on. I dont want my car to sound raspy at all, I have gone through like 3 exhaust this past two months because of the rasp. What will the difference in hp be if I removed them. Is it really much louder with out the cats?

Cats will quiet it down a little, and they won't rob but a little HP. Even if you go without the cats, you will have VERY little if no rasp at all with duals.

Then you better install some cats. No cats = rasp.

I haven't noticed any rasp in my current setup and I don't have cats

I also know rasp pretty well because I used to have a LM catback

I too used to have the loud mouth.

Im glad I dont have it anymore.lol

What mufflers you running on your duals? DynoMax Bullets? I'd love to hear your car. Ive never heard a hotcam in person before but Ive heard it has a mean lope to it.

I have a true dual setup without cats currently. I'm planning to install a set just to cut down on me smelling like gas.. I love the duals, but I hate smelling like I've been bathing with exhaust gas...

i have duals with no cats, no rasp here

. i say, if you live in an inspection-free state, leave the cats off

I would absolutely ditch the cats. From what I've read and heard, they aren't needed at all on a true dual setup, and even a nice high-flow cat will rob of you power. If you're a stock or bolt-on car, the cats may not hurt your numbers too badly, but if you've got a cam, you're probably leaving a significant amount of power on the table by running the cats.
