Default Which heads?

I'll list my mods first it's a 1999 Trans Am LS1 A4. Slp lid, stock ls1 intake (going LS6 when I do heads) stock 853 heads, mild cam (218/227 valve lift @ .600/.600), PAC 1218 valve springs, 1/34 long tubes to a y pipe with no cats, exhaust. Now my friend gave me 862 heads for free I was planning on sending them to Texas speed for a stage 2.5 build on them. Costing around $1008 shipped. I recently came across Thompson motorsports's 243 ported heads for around $1050. Would I be better off spending a few extra bucks for the ported 243's or just sending the 862 heads to Texas speed?

I think both heads will be very comparable, so you can't go wrong either way

Texas must breed automotive performance machinists. Having not heard of Thompson Motorsports, I chose between TSP and Lloyd Elliot performance. TSP had slightly better flow and the uniformity of cnc porting. LE had respectable flow numbers and a great reputation. After speaking with both companies, I went with LLoyd Elliot, another Texan. He sounds so knowledgeable. It was like calling the hospital and speaking with the Doctor compared to getting the nurse. I kind of liked helping out the "little guy" also. Not to mention it was a better value too.
