Default PVC question

I installed my AMW catch can a few days ago on my car using Al's bracket (on the passenger side head). The only thing that kinda worries me is that the hoses are very short and come close to the throttle body cable shaft. There is a sort of wire that holds the pvc hose to the block, right before it enters into the intake. Is there a way to bypass that so the hose can be run freely? I was thinking of replacing the entire hose from the valve cover all the way to the catch can with 3/8" automotive hose, but don't know if doing so will have any ill effects (throw a code, etc.). Anyone else try this?

That little connection to the coolant crossover can be removed. I read somewhere that it was actually used to head the PCV Valve in colder climates or something like that.

I removed mine when I did the AMW install so that I could route my hoses like I wanted.

Good Luck..

Post pics if you can with your Dark Age bracket..

Sounds good, I'll go out and give it a try right now. I'll try to take some pics of it if I can borrow a good digi cam.

You're going to have to remove the entire PCV Valve.. Once you have it out.. pull out the valve, and then the little heater part can be pulled from the plastic..

Good Luck..

My can showed up Friday. If anyone has a good write up instruction on how to install in a F body car, that would be great, or at least how to pull that hose off teh intake. It seems like it's on there really tight, and I don't want to break anything. Is there a way to get that off easily? Also, that small piece of hose that goes from the intake to the thiker round piece ( I think it's the PCV valve itself ) is what's removed, and the hose supplied goes from that to the can, and then back to the intake, correct?

Yes.. the hose leaving the PCV that goes into the side of the intake goes into the top of the catch can.. and the hose coming out of the side of the catch can goes back into the little hole on the passenger side of the manifold.

Pretty simple, nothing to break or screw up.
