Default Coupler lid options for 102 SD to TB

Hey guys what do you guys remondend for going from a 102/102 to the lid. I already have the SLP lid but leaning towards the 104 if it will allow better flow. Any advice would be appreciated as far as couplers + options. I know I could have searched and searched for dead threads and found a answer but wanted a response that wasn’t 4 years old without an hour of research.

Thanks for the help! Car is a 383 Ls1 block stroker guessing around 480rwhp.

I went with a 22° 4" coupler from intake hoses .Com I believe. You can search under my user name for my H/C/I build thread, there is some discussion on it towards the end. I also used an FTP 104 lid, no sense in necking down to the SLP size. The ftp 98 may work just as well if you are going SD. I think the 98 and 104 might have the same minimum diameter with the 104 being expanded at the end so you can slide a MAF right in there. Might be worth a call.

There are some 4" silicon couplers on Amazon from HPS, I bought a 4" dia by 4" long for my 105mm TB to 100mm MAF, and had to trim it to fit the length and angle. The longest I see on there is 6", but I'm not sure if that would be long enough for your SD setup.

Otherwise you can pretty much get a custom one from intakehoses . com as mentioned. I used them years ago for a 85 maf to 90 tb coupling, worked very well.

One thing I'd be aware of though - the straight silicon couplers are a bit stiff vs rubber. If your motor torques over a lot (say if you have stock motor mounts) it can crack the lid.

Thanks everyone seems like the 4” 22 degree is the way to go from what I’ve found also. Also came across that link from intake hoses also.

About to pull the trigger on the FTP 104 as well. Try to post some pics when I have it all together.
