Default Yuck...this was bad..

Had the dreaded P0302 (knock sensor 2 ) code on my truck, so I changed both sensors out, along with new wire harness.
This is the rear sensor and associated connector.
Ya think it needed replacing? UGH!

P0302 is a misfire on cylinder number 2.

You likely had a P0332 which is the rear 02 sensor voltage code.

P0327 Knock Sensor 1 Circuit Low Input
P0332 Knock Sensor 2 Circuit Low Input

Yeah, I fat-fingered that code. It was the P0332...

I think it is due to splashed water getting into the engine compartment and then evaporating - no other reason comes to mind. Mine looked almost that bad when I replaced them. The plastic connectors crumbled so I also replaced it.

That is the most unholy thing I ever seen come off a engine.

The picture is of the oil screen from my 1973 Honda ST90 minibike before it got rebuilt. That was a messed up engine but it starts on the first kick now. That . . . is an ugly engine picture.
