LM7 Tensioner
I am in the middle of dropping a 5.3 (LM7) in to my 79 Camaro Z28. This is my first project at this scale therefore I have, and will have more, a lot of questions. This is a quick run down of what is happening:
- Stock LM7 from a 2001 Tahoe: I just have replaced all the seals and gaskets
- LS1 oil pan
- Stock intake and accessories (in the process of modifying the brackets since I couldn't bring myself to pay hundreds))
- Tanks inc fuel tank, fuel pump and installation kit (installed)
- Stock wiring ( I am almost finished with modifications)
- Ebay headers (which I don't remember the name at this point!)
So, my first question is about the belt tensioner which was mounted on the A/C bracket. I don't plan to use the A/C at this point therefore I am looking at what I need to do with tensioner since there won't be any A/C pulley. Any input would be appreciated. Pictures would be great.
If this is not a right place for this thread, I appreciate if a moderator moves it to the right place. As you can see, I am very new here.
Cheers
Thanks for clarifying that.
Another question: The fuel tank and fuel system that I have installed are from Tanks inc. The kit came with a fuel regulator /filter which has its own return line. Based on the instruction, which I verified with their tech as well, I am suppose to block the return line from the engine fuel rail. That made me a little uncomfortable but again, this is my first time. They say the return line from the corvette fuel filter/regulator is all I need. Does this sound reasonable?
