Default Dr44 replacement

I bought some accessory brackets and when mounting the alternator, it hits the after market valve covers. I think a smaller alternator would work but I know nothing of alternators, mounting, or sizing. Is there a smaller case alternator with the same output that would mount in its place?

If it were the same diameter but not as deep would be prefect.

Was gonna say the same. The DR44 is a beast of an alternator! Might need to step her on down.
