Default Header / Power Problem

Ok i have had my jet hots w/air installed i was told that the weird burning smell was gases that heat up, well here is what i can not figure i can be driving in the car for over an hour and it still comes in very strong if i get on it the slightest bit whats the deal will it always do this? Also it seems as if the car is losing power little by little. If i accelerate from a stop its like a short delay before it kicks in and when it does kick in it does not feel as strong as it use to be. Any opinions or help? Also i know each LS1 car is different but if there is anyone close to augusta, ga with my mods (jet hot coated with off road y, slp lid & knN , and Loud mouth with an A4) can i ride in your car and see how it feels I just know after spending that much dough i wonder if i should have just got a cam..... That will be next because i am not happy

What type of header gasket did you use? Some type of paper gasket, or did you reuse the metal stock gaskets?

my jethot lt's have that weird burning smell too, it comes and goes. I dont know what it is?? my car felt really bad for the 1st week, then picked up alot and ran great. It still feels a little slow on the bottom end, but I really need tuning (my A/F was 12.5 stock and it only got richer after the headers). Maybe you just need some tuning, but if so, wait til you get the cam, no need to tune twice and waste $$

Yeah i guess so i am just worried i will put all this money in and not get the results i am looking for, i really was expecting more out of the headers i see some people throwing on exhaust and dynoing higher then i am with air induction, headers & exhaust and its like why even bother with doing anything else. I think i will do the hot cam and ls6 springs and the ls6 intake and no more

use the stock metal gaskets, i dont know what gaskets come with the jet hots but i wouldnt use them. also check your o2 sensors and check for any exhaust leaks.

well i got the o2 sims in the back but my check engine light still comes on and off when it pleases, we put TR6 plugs in because i have a NOS kit just waiting to put in. A guy told me i would see a decrease in stock power with TR6 because they give you the best in performance when spraying only so i do not know if thats a down fall either. I posted once before but with the SLP lid & loud mouth i made 315 rwhp, with the addition of the coated jet hots with y-pipe it went to 312 but does not even feel that strong anymore
