Default LM7 5.3 or LS1

So im having an internal debate with myself on what i should do, and i would like your opinion. I have a LM7 5.3 pullout, 100% complete. I also have available to me an LS1 long block out of a '99 camaro. My friend owns the long block and said he would sell it to me for $750. Im debating whether to just cam the LM7 and drop it into my truck, or buy the LS1 and move the parts i need over to it, then swap that in instead. I dont think i will have the funds to cam the LS1, at least not for awhile.
So in the end, is it worth it to buy the LS1 and go that route, or just cam the LM7?

BTW this will be going into my '67 C10 short bed with an old school 4 spd behind it.

thanks

Buy the LS1, mark the price up $500 and resell, and use that money to buy your cam/springs.

I would use the LS1 lighter and better torque which is good for a truck.
