Default 241 vs 706 with BTR stage 3

Hey guys. Did some searching but couldn't find the exact answers I was looking for. I'm in the middle of my build at the moment and second-guessing my combo. First of all, I know it's taboo to choose your cam before heads but I got a really good deal on a BTR Stage 3. I have a set of ported 241's currently that were done by a local guy here in Houston that has a pretty good reputation, however with the low cost of 706/862 heads, I could pick up a set cheap and have them CNC'ed by TSP and sell the 241's. I think the better flow and increased CR would be beneficial. OR... Would it be beneficial to mill the 241's for the bump in CR or would I run into PtV issues with the Stage 3? ANOTHER thought (LoL) is: If I went with the 706's, could they be milled even further to increase CR? How much (estimated) with my cam? I appreciate any input. Don't roast me too hard. Thanks.

My opinion from ~20 years of LS is the a ported 241 is always a 2nd or 3rd choice unless the 241 has the chamber welded up then is remachined and CNC'd like Advanced Induction and a few others do. I'd sell the 241 heads unless the chambers were welled up and as mentioned above and get something else. I le the 5.3 truck heads like the 706/862 they can make a nice set up when ported and reworked. The 243/799 are much choice for factory cathedral heads and are excellent when correctly ported etc.

I run Texas Speed 5.3 heads (862 castings) and for the money I tho k they are a great choice.
