Default Ing. relay problem

So I built a 408 and installed it in my car I had a problem were I had no 12v constant on run to the injectors or coils. In the back of the fuse panal there is 4 wires to the ing. Relay 2 pink 1 black and 1 red. The black has 12v when key in run and crank and the red always has 12 volts. The one pink wire to the ing. Switch(were key goes) has 12v in run. But the other remaining pink wire(to ing. Fuse) doesn't. And on crank it only gets 1.5v to the the pink wire(to ing. Fuse) So what I did was jump the two pinks together and that gave my injectors 12v constant as well as my coil packs so I decided to turn the key and it fired right up. Now the question I have is why do I have to jump the two pinks isnt that the relays job? Its not a bad relay because I bought three new ones and tried all three. So what is causing this? And is it safe if need be to solder a wire in their and keep it like that permanently?

I’ve read your other thread and suspect this has something to do with your trans being out of the car. That relay is there for a reason and it sounds to me like the PCM is not sending a signal to the relay to allow it to close. I would not permanently bypass the relay. Instead, try to jumper the transmission connector to make the pcm think the trans is there then see if it will run with the ign relay connected.

Yeah, NSS would be a good start. Obviously you’ll want to restore the ign relay wiring first so you don’t get false test results when you jumper the neutral safety switch.
