Another Cam only thread. But mines cooler

Picking up a MINT Bone stock 2000 Trans am auto car with 60,000 miles on sunday.

Going to be my daily driver. I only drive 3 miles to work. But still lol id like to road trip it too.

So I was thinking
MAYBE 243 heads if I can find some cheap.Probably just stay stock heads ***
Speed E Headers, y pipe, stock cat back.
Lid
Dorman LS2 intake
3000 Budget Yank converter from TSP

Now for the cammm...
The cam motion Titan 2 looks really good!

I know, I know.. Im a TSP Guy 100%. but for some reason the cam motion driver cams Look awesome to me .
not trying to make 450 tire or anything crazy.
380 rwhp with a nice curve would be killer .

Thoughts??

Have you considered an ls7 crate engine

Don't be so cheap on the on converter. You will regret it later. I did. Fti street brawler 3200. Shoulda went bigger/better quality for not that much more minimum go yank ss3600. Build like a house. From the foundation up. Good rear end/ converter. 335rwp can be more fun than you think!!!!

Our high lift asa cam is a very solid contender and with those 243s milled would make some great power.

Circle d also has a 278mm converter that does 3000-3200 rpm for like 550. Another option from a great converter company.

Building on the Hammer-tone, the LS9 crate would be another to consider.

Sounds like a sweet find, congratulations! Definitely an excellent choice for a daily :metoo:

I think the Titan 2 looks like a very good cam for the goals mentioned. What rear gear does the TA have? On CM's website they suggest 3.73's.

Yank converters rock! Have a 3200 Yank that drives almost stock in a Vette with TH400.

The cam & converter seem like a good match.

The Dorman LS2D is pretty good, in a couple of months should have a more flow test data on the Dorman/ported Dorman, thanks to WS6 Store.

For all the trouble of doing 243's/heads, might as go for a nice set of ported 243's or 706 truck heads with the bigger valves.

Why keep the stock catback?

I had the stock car back on my heads cam car and it sounds beautiful with headers and a y pipe!

I have a BTR stage 2 which is pretty close to the Titan 2. It's a nice driving cam. Probably make about 385 with 243 heads and auto.

Not sure there is enough epoxy to save that one.

Mavn, I have the Titan 2 in my LS6....big fan. It drives great and pulls to 7k and has a good meaty mid-range. No track or Dyno numbers yet but she pulls good and no issues with surging or vacuum or anything.

That's what I'm looking for man. It can be used with PAC .600 lift beehives right?
