Default !air Mod

What all needs to be done to get this to work? What do I have to do? DO I have to pull of the air pump?

TIA

2001 cars will require you to plug up the small vacuum tube left behind when you pull all of the tubing out. I have mine plugged up on one of the coil pack bolts. The tube that i'm talkin about is connected to the top of a plastic piece that is at the very back of the intake where the tubes connect.

I think I know where you are talking about. Do I just unplug the air pump?

When i removed mine i took out the air pump fuses. I think there were one in each fuse box in the engine bay. It also says that there are 2 different fuses for the air pump so i'm sure that's what i did.

Im still trying to decide if I want to just block off the air pipe and keep it attached or do I want to remove it all together.

Are you planning in getting headers with no emission provisions? If you are then i'd wait and take it out then. If you do it now then you'll have to make or buy block off plates for where the AIR pipes connect to the exhaust manifolds.

If you need a hand i'll drop by. Just let me know.

Shouldn't be a problem...there's many places that will probably let you slide. I got my car inspected the same day i did the install. I watched the guy and he never looked under the car for anything. He had the hood up and scanned for codes so when inspection time rolls around again i'm gonna go to the same place.

If that doesn't work then i have a friend that says he can get a place to pass me.

How do you like your QTPs? Im thinking of getting those. Ill probably go with the non emissions style because they are cheaper and I think they look better

Yea i would definitely go that route to be sure. I drove my car to lanes with open headers. It's not that far from me. Lane will do great work and is a cool guy. I highly recommend his shop.

Thats cool Ill have to take my up there when I get the headers. I doubt that I could drive all they way out there with open headers since I live so far away. I would probably be deaf by the time I get there
