Need help with c5r valvecovers modifications
Need help with c5r valvecovers modifications I have a set of c5r valve covers and I was wondering if anyone know someone who could weld on a bung for a breather or oil fill cover. Also, if possible it would be nice if a reciever groove could be machined to retain the stock oring type gasket. Any help appreciated.
Pretty much any shop than can tig weld can weld a bung on for an oil fill hole. I didnt want to cut up my C5r Covers so I fill my car through the oil dipstick tube, ya it takes a little longer but it keeps the valvecovers looking great. If you want to use O-rings to seal the valvecovers to the head you have to get the head machined to use an oring, it will be smaller than stock but it will work, the valvecover is too thin at the flange to be machined. I run a small bead of gasket in a can or something like that on the head flange, let it set up a couple of minutes and then put the valvecover on.
Thanks for the advice. The oil fill shouldn't be that big a deal, I will have the covers off often anyway with the solid roller cam setup (very aggressive). Really my main concern was a source of fresh air for the PCV system. Did you just use the oiling holes at the front of the covers to go to your TB? Thanks again
